(Blue Springs, MO) – On Monday, July 2nd, Dr. Nathan C. Hamaker joined Discover Vision’s Blue Springs office, located at 1613 South 7 Highway. Dr. Hamaker is a board eligible ophthalmologist who practices comprehensive ophthalmology including no stitch cataract surgery, LASIK laser vision correction, the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, and management of diabetic eye disease. The doctors at Discover Vision Center’s Blue Springs office offer total family eye care ranging from comprehensive exams for all ages to cataract and retinal surgery. With Hamaker’s addition, the Blue Springs office will now offer LASIK exams in five of its eight locations – Blue Springs, Independence, Northland, Leawood and Olathe.
Dr. Hamaker is a native of Houston, Texas. He attended Brigham Young University where he graduated cum laude in chemical engineering. Hamaker attended medical school at the University of Texas in Houston and completed his residency training at the University of Kansas Medical Center and the University of Missouri – Kansas City.
Dr. Hamaker is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Nathan has presented research at various international ophthalmology meetings both as a resident and as a medical student. He is an active volunteer in community organizations and is a husband and father of three children.
