Rachel Newland, O.D. is an optometrist at Discover Vision Centers in Independence and The Legends. Dr. Newland provides routine vision care, and diagnosis and management of complex ocular conditions. This includes glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, uveitis, and neuro-ophthalmic conditions.
Dr. Rachel Newland earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology at the University of Kansas and underwent her Doctor of Optometry at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis.
Dr. Newland completed a hospital based optometric residency in ocular disease and low vision at the Kansas City VA Medical Center. She also completed an externship at the Daytona Beach VA Medical Center where she served veterans with primary eye care and ocular disease needs.
