Healthy Vision Exams help your eye doctor check the overall health of your eyes. This is the primary way that we can examine important parts of your eye including the macula and retina. If you have diabetes, type 1 or type 2, examining the retina and surrounding blood vessels is an important step in monitoring and treating diabetic retinopathy. If abnormal findings are discovered during your Healthy Vision Exam you may need to return for a Medical Eye Exam for additional testing and evaluation. Depending on your plan, co-payments may be incurred for the Medical Eye Exam.
