First, our consultation is free of charge* with no obligation to proceed with surgery. From our point of view, this is 100% about education. You will learn more about what we do, and we will listen intently about your lifestyle needs, and how you’d like LASIK or SMILE to fit into the things you do every day. Then, we, together, will determine if there is a match in what you desire and what we can provide.
It’s a fairly simple process in terms of the testing we conduct to determine whether you are a candidate, and if so, which procedure is right for you. We know that you have a lot invested in the decision – it’s your vision, after all.
You’ve already taken a huge step by reaching out to schedule a consultation. From here, all you have to do is arrive to your scheduled appointment.
There is no need to remove your contact lenses for any time prior to the screening.
We will perform several tests to determine whether you are a good candidate, and which procedure is best for you. Once it is confirmed that you are a candidate, we will discuss your specific situation.

If for some reason, you need to reschedule your appointment, please contact our office at 816-478-1230. Please note: Discover Vision Centers reserves the right to charge a fee for appointments that are unkept or cancelled with less than 24 hours notice.
*Consultations are free of charge for patients who have not had previous Laser Vision Correction. If you have had previous surgery, this would be considered a Level 4 visit which is approximately $200. Insurance does not cover fees for elective procedures; however, you can use HSA or FSA accounts to cover the examination cost, as well as the cost of LASIK or SMILE surgery.
